Join us at the Bauhinia Bicentennial Art Gallery in Springsure for the opening night of ‘Tough and Tender Beauty’.
In 2020, Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (CQ RASN) ran the Tough and Tender Beauty Artist ‘at home’ Residency Program. This program encouraged artists to find the beauty and tenderness in the toughest of times, environments and landscapes.
Our regions had already gone through a lot in recent years with drought, fire and floods, and now the world is being impacted by the COVID global pandemic.
Through these tough times and working through the arts, individuals and communities find and create moments of beauty. There is beauty and tenderness to be found in the toughest of times, environments and landscapes, in the ways people dig deep, respond, create and reimagine.
Three artists from the Central Highlands, and three from the Banana Shire, were chosen to participate. This exhibition is the result of the work these artists created during their residency.
Artists: Michelle Gray, Raelene Bock, Rebecca Collis, Sarah Larsen, Hilary Coulter and Tracey Hewitt.
