About this Event
Join Matt Golinski for the evening as he shares his emotional story.
On Boxing Day 2011, Matt tragically lost his wife and three daughters in a house fire. He suffered catastrophic burns to more than 40 per cent of his body and doctors kept him in a coma for more than eight weeks.
Matt endured dozens of skin grafts and operations under general anaesthetic, and excruciatingly painful physiotherapy to bring movement back to his limbs. When he finally left hospital after four months, the joints in his elbows had calcified and his arms were locked at right angles
His name has become a byword for grit, grace and generosity, for how it is possible for the human spirit to move beyond the most unthinkable tragedy.
Matt’s story will be supported by practical information of how you can best prepare for bush fire season. You will be provided with practical steps and tools you can use to be bush fire ready.
The price of the ticket also a light dinner.
This initiative is jointly funded by the Federal Government & Queensland Government.
