Ensham Life of Mine Extension Project – Comet

Ensham Mine of Life Social Impact Assessment Workshop Invitation

These Social Impact Assessment Workshops are open to all community members

You are invited to participate in a community workshop to provide your inputs to the Social impact assessment (SIA) for the Ensham Life of Mine Extension Project.

Ensham Mine is located approximately 35 kilometres east of Emerald and 15 kilometres northwest of Comet.

The Project is a proposed underground extension to Ensham Mine’s existing operations. The SIA will assess the Project’s potential impacts and benefits for social conditions and community values in local communities, and describe actions to mitigate social impacts and maximise community benefits.

The SIA is being undertaken as part of the Project’s Environmental Impact Statement, which will support the Queensland Government’s assessment of whether the Project should be approved.
